All Star Gold Lawn Care Program

You can’t know the condition of your lawn without knowing the condition of the soil. A soil test will help determine what minerals are present and which ones are low or missing, what ratios they are in to each other, what the soil’s pH level is, and what kinds of microorganisms are present. All of these measurements will help your technician determine just what your lawn needs.

Note: Soil testing is included with our All Star Premium Lawn Care Program and is available for an additional charge with all other programs

Early Spring: This application will get your lawn off to the right start with the first fertilizer and crabgrass control treatment for the year. We use a balanced dry granular fertilizer that includes pre-emergent crabgrass control. We also apply broadleaf weed control as needed.

Core Aeration: In the spring, aeration opens up pathways for nutrients and life-giving water, straight to new roots and shoots. If you have thin or bare patches in your yard, aeration can also provide a chance to overseed, allowing new seed to fall deeper into the turf and gain solid purchase. Some grass species will need to be overseeded in the fall instead of spring, so consult a All Star Turf lawn care specialist to make sure you’re using the proper techniques for your particular yard.

Late Spring: For the second fertilizer and pre-emergent crabgrass control application for the year, we use a balanced, control-released granular fertilizer with a second round of crabgrass pre-emergent. We also apply a post broadleaf weed control.

Summer: This application is designed to prepare your lawn for the upcoming summer months. We apply a balanced, control-released granular fertilizer. We also apply broadleaf weed control as needed.

Grub Control Treatment: All Star Turf Management's Grub Control works all season long against these pests. We typically apply grub control at the same time as the summer fertilizer.

Core Aeration: In the fall, aeration can let in light and air, keeping the dangers of mold under control and even minimizing the chances of winter lawn threats like snow mold. Proper fall fertilization in conjunction with aeration can allow those nutrients to reach the roots of your turf, providing a healthy control to the chances of snow mold growth. Over seeding at this time, if needed, is available for additional charge.

Fall: This is a balanced slow release fertilizer designed to stimulate root growth and thicken turf when weed competition is at a minimum. We will continue to evaluate your lawn for insect and weed problems and treat as necessary.

Winterization: This application is designed to provide nutrients for your lawn to absorb and store through the winter months. This granular fertilizer will give your lawn a head start toward a healthy, lush turf next spring.
